In Case You Missed This, Susan Sarandon Joined Of Montreal Onstage

And she spanked men in pig costumes. Yes, there's video.

Of Montreal, of course, are the Georgia band known for ambitious pop and an ambitious live show to match. Costumes, makeup, dancers in various states of undress... even a live horse (controversially) have all been part of the Of Montreal in-concert experience.

The number, however, of respected stalwarts from the world of cinema to appear with Of Montreal had been close to nil.

Until Tuesday night.

While performing at New York's Highline Ballroom, the band, and two peeps in pork get-ups, were joined onstage by Susan Sarandon, who performed perfectly the role of sexy, disciplinarian teacher. First, she breaks up a pig fight. Then, she bends one pig/man over her knee and administers a spanking. She finally exits, but not before giving the crowd a stern once-over through her spectacles.

Watch:

Will you ever think of Susan Sarandon the same way again? Or pigs?

Liam Gallagher's Next Album Out In July, Says Liam Gallagher

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher is known for talking a big game, so who knows if his statements about a July release for a new album will prove true, BUT -- he certainly seems to want to beat estranged brother Noel to the punch.

The news came during an interview Liam gave to London's XFM (via the NME). So far, Gallagher and his former Oasis mates Andy Bell and Gem Archer have eight songs for their still-untitled project. The songs are (Liam) Gallagher-penned;  most predate Oasis' August split, though several are new.

As for next steps, Liam says:

"We're going in [the studio] in April with a producer, we're going to do three songs with him and if he doesn't balls it up and we don't balls it up then we'll go in and do the whole album with him."

So, 'balls it up' is, presumably, bad. Also bad? According to Liam, Oasis' relatively meager output over the length of their sixteen year career:

"Seven albums for Oasis is not good, I don't think. We've been going 18 years, 16 years or whatever and all we've done is seven albums. I just think it's poor, really.

"I'm not going to beat myself up about it, I think we should have made better, bigger albums. Or more albums. Having like four or five years off is just no good," he added. "Obviously Noel wanted a bit of time off and we don't. The band split in August – we was in the studio in November 'cos we're mad for it."

Did you catch that classic Liam catchphrase? When Liam says he's mad for it, good things happen. Here's hoping for that July release.
