Lady Gaga Glued Tons of Pearls Onto Her Face Posted: 11 Feb 2010 02:15 PM PST It looks pretty cool. Or weird. Decide for yourself, after the jump. The photo was taken last night at a gala event for anfAR, the AIDS research foundation. Gaga showed up all pearled out, in a pearl-encrusted bikini, and with pearls glued to her legs and face. But while everyone was talking Gaga's look, she was talking about her Grammys performance with Elton John (via Us Mag): "It was such an experience. I just feel so amazing to know him. He's such an amazing person and artist. It's just, I'm so thankful. I mean, it was such a positive, affirming experience." Clearly, it was cool to play with Elton, but returning to the subject at hand: who glues pearls to their face? Lady Gaga does. How does she look? -- Conrad Doucette Photo by Larry Busacca |

Alice In Chains Tour Blog: Reno, NV Posted: 11 Feb 2010 09:50 AM PST That was the case with Reno, where we arrived at about 6:30 A.M. Most times I'll just head to my room and try to go back to sleep, but this morning I went and grabbed some breakfast with Jerry, who talked me into joining him for some blackjack afterward. Long story short, I played blackjack in my pajamas alongside Jerry Cantrell at 7:00 A.M. in Reno, and got absolutely destroyed. How did Jerry do? Pretty darn good actually. Like life isn't good enough for him already. He gets to be a rock star AND a winning blackjack player? Meanwhile I have to trudge through the casino back to my room with an empty wallet? In my pajamas? Not cool. So as I went back to nurse my financial wounds, a couple of our crew guys were taking advantage of the day off to go skiing, where one of them suffered a real wound, breaking his leg in two places. A few years back our sound engineer was hit by a car and broke his leg in Denver. This time around our monitor engineer had a skiing accident and broke his leg, so the jinx continues. Except last time the accident happened with a week remaining in the tour. This time we're only a week into the tour, with six to go. Ugh. And for those of you who don't know, the monitor engineer is the guy who controls the mix of what each band member hears in his ears, so to call it an important job is an understatement. Show day rolled around and the concert went ahead, with the assistant engineer helming the board. It was a good show, despite security being weird (shining flashlights in the faces of anyone trying to take a picture, and constantly making people on the rail who were reaching towards the stage put their arms down). The crowd was good and the guys played well, so I'm gonna go ahead and mark this one in the win column. All in all it was an eventful couple of days. A broken leg, a broken wallet, and a thousand or so Alice In Chains fans breaking a sweat in a small club in Reno. - Baldy All Alice In Chains Tour Blogs |
The Worm: New Video from Chickenfoot Posted: 11 Feb 2010 09:00 AM PST Today we've got "Get It Up" from rock 'n roll supergroup Chickenfoot. Think hard rock has gotten a little too serious? Director Darin Bristow and the guys agree. Watch the animated action now, then see what they had to say. So how did this video come about? Director Darin Bristow explains. "The basic concept I had for the 'Get it Up' video, was a play on the current state of hard rock music. To me, rock music nowadays is a bit too serious, and the musical landscape seems cookie-cutter and generic. The fun seems to be gone. Like what you're hearing? Go buy the album! Prodigal Bassist Dave Ellefson Returns To Megadeth Posted: 11 Feb 2010 06:55 AM PST For the past eight years, Megadeth has been without founding member Dave Ellefson. Now, the bassist is back. Ellefson, who founded Megadeth in 1983 with Dave Mustaine, had a falling out with Mustaine in 2002 following a disagreement over royalties. Mustaine went on to record The System Has Failed, a 2004 Megadeth album, without Ellefson. Time, however, heals all wounds, and when recent Megadeth bassist James Lomenzo decided to leave, Mustaine and Ellefson decided to speak. Ellefson tells Classic Rock: "Dave (Mustaine) and I talked on the phone, and all the feuds, all the arguments we've been having over the years just melted away. It just goes to show what direct contact can achieve!" As for Mustaine, his reaction is a bit more succinct: "David Ellefson belongs in Megadeth. Next we are going to show you the power of getting your asses kicked… HARD!" That's the spirit. Catch Megadeth this spring as they perform their 1990 album Rust In Peace in its entirety. Dates below.
